THE NEED FOR MICRO MEDIA BUSINESSES IN GHANA TO SUPPORT COMMUNICATION AND NON-COMMUNICATION BUSINESSES

ALFNET COMMUNICATIONS is about to launch a Micro Media Business Forum to support and establish 1000 micro media business in Ghana. The forum will be divided into 3 main sessions, (The problem finder / The solution / The Implementation). The forum will be have 30 entrepreneurs, businessmen and women, Innovators, business developers, media and communication professionals and more to discuss the challenges and themes at hand.

Small and medium enterprises make a huge contribution to the Ghanaian economy, creating jobs for a large number of youth and others, thus curbing chronic unemployment. It also contributes significantly to the country’s foreign exchange creation and the growth of the country’s gross domestic product.

The Ghanaian economy is comprised of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs), corporate bodies and global organizations. They together structure the medium through which the economy executes business movement and develops. The public authority plan to make the confidential area the driving force of development is primarily determined by the SME area. The SME area offers more than 70% of the nation’s Gross domestic product. SMEs have throughout the years been extremely influential for the financial advancement of most emerging nations, particularly Ghana. It is a significant type of business and a significant boss areas of strength for having effect on the financial development and Gross domestic product in Ghana. This study explores into the activity of the SME improvement in Ghana, the significance of SME’s to the Ghanaian economy, the difficulties confronting the area and makes proposals regarding how to determine these difficulties and the effect on the Ghanaian economy.

Information was gathered from SMEs from different cross areas of assembling, exchange, trade and administration enterprises. The information was gathered through interviews, surveys, distributions and reports. However the media business industry has been left out and the focus is on Tv and Radio (presenting and Hosting), but i think it’s time the youths and entrepreneurs of Ghana start looking at opportunities in growing more micro media businesses to support the main streams as well as businesses that runs most communication activities to grow and add more value to their business and services as well as set up the new media business that will non communication businesses grow as well..

I forcefully believe that the financial condition in the continent can be achieved through entrepreneurship development, direction, advocacy, and advancement. The initiative will recognize, inspire and encourage the skills, projects, initiatives, brands, and businesses of young leaders ( entrepreneurs, innovators, businesses, and young businessmen and women in Ghana and Africa as well as identify areas, structures, and reforms that can help to contribute by adding value to organizational and individual brand development and nation building to improve operational excellence which better serves the way we live.

MICRO MEDIA BUSINESS FORUM initiative is a media entrepreneurship business initiative that will make a real difference in the lives of all young media and communication entrepreneurs, innovators, businessmen and women, and to demonstrate Alfnet Communications dream to Africa especially Ghana and its future leaders within the media and communications industry This project will serves as a guiding hand out of poverty to success securing a better and strong media future for all media entrepreneurs in Ghana This initiative offers an opportunity to inspire fellow cooperates to join the project and give back to communities in a meaningful and sustainable way The forum will invest in 1000 micro media entrepreneurs within a period of 10 years through it forum, training, mentorship, partnership, collaboration and supporting most start-ups in the media business. The goal is to create at least 1 million jobs and opportunities within the media and communication industry.

This forum will serve as a guiding hand out of poverty to succeed in securing a better and strong media future for all media entrepreneurs in Ghana. This forum will offer an opportunity to inspire fellow cooperates to join the project and give back to communities in a meaningful and sustainable way. This forum will identify outstanding Ghanaian media entrepreneurs who have start-ups or business ideas with the potential to grow.
